Questions To Ask Yourself Before Breeding Your Dog

  • 01/02/2011

There's no doubt that owning a dog is hugely satisfying. Of course, there is a huge amount of responsibility - exercising him, food bills, visits to the vet and poop scooping are just some of the aspects involved. It's a labour of love but, in return for looking after him, your dog will lavish all the love and attention on you that you could ever want.

Good morning, just looking for some advice...

we have a cockerspaniel working dog.. pedigree.. all his ppapers insurance etc.. he is a much loved dog and is two years old....

A friend or an associate mentioned that she was thinking of breeding her bitch who is a beautiful dog...

we said we would take no breed fee for our dog and she agreed we would have first choice of the litter which we were all happy about.. a friend and pup for max and for us and a litter of pups for her to do with what she sees fit...

she has now informed us via email that she expects half of the vey fees for during pregnancy and for 10 weeks after....

This doesnt seem right to ME NEITHER TO A FEW PEOPLE WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH... we are not charging her for using max so why should we pay for vet bills... should we cancel the whole deal.. and go down the correct breeding route with our max...

yours sincerely
