Moral Reasons for Pug Rescuing

  • 01/10/2011

There are different options for all people who want to get a new pug pet. For all the lovers of this breed, the way of pug rescue or adoption is a special one, and it will make them feel they did the right thing. Dog lovers who prefer this way don't have to worry about the attitude or health issues of these dogs, as the volunteers who work in these rescue centres that house all species of animals will play with the dog and train it to behave correctly, and the dog will also have a general vet exam and will be given the right shots and immunisations. Most of the pug rescue organisations have volunteers to work there, and these people like animals and want to find them new good homes while temporarily housing them, not to euthanize the dogs or other pets.

You can adopt a pug dog from a rescue centre or animal shelter from many and various reasons. The Pug dogs for adoption are homeless, and they can develop a few behavioural issues due to this situation. Because many dogs that end up in shelters have been previously abused, the normal high energy level of a pug may be lower as it may be apprehensive around people. When you adopt a pug from a shelter or rescue group you actually save its life and get the dog into a good home and family.

One Has to Consider the Cons of Pug Adoption

There are negative sizes of the adoption of a Pug through a shelter or rescue group. Normally, a dog with problems is found in an animal shelter as dogs kept in rescue groups are kept healthy and usually are cured of most behavioural issues. However, some of these dogs could have hidden behaviour problems and they can remain aloof from their new owner even months after they have been adopted from the shelter.

Other times, the dog could have serious health problems that the owner is not ready to deal with. That would result in an expensive adoption and perhaps regret on the part of the owner. The lack of information about the pug and its behavioural and medical history can be quite frustrating. The main problems can occur in those families who have small children and adopt dogs from the rescue shelters, without additional information. In these cases, people cannot know if and when something bad will happen. You cannot leave the baby alone around the dog, because it can act too roughly or get scared by something and hurt the baby. Dogs taken from rescue pug groups are a little more predictable.

Whenever someone is considering pug adoption through the means of animal shelters or pug rescue groups, one must take into account the various pros and cons of the situation. Besides the fact it is the morally correct thing to do when adopting a puppy from a shelter, you should also consider the expenses required to maintain the dog's health and other needs. There are lots of mistakes a person wanting to adopt a pug puppy usually makes, and in order to avoid these mistakes you should do some preparation and planning before starting.

The personnel who work in these pug rescue shelters mostly volunteer there. You can adopt a pug dog from an animal shelter from various reasons. Check groups that rescue pug dogs to get a more predictable one.

Hi,  I am just wondering do you have any pug puppies for adoption.  He or she would have a good loving home and I have 4 kids who would love he or she unconditionally and we also have a terrier called Skippy who would love a friend, as his friend who was a jack russell died of old age.
