Labrador dogs have a broad head, thick nose, a large muzzle and a very strong neck. The eyes are chestnut or hazel with an intelligent expression. Medium-sized ears are pendant. Labrador's like to play - especially in water, because they swim very good. There are dogs with excellent temperament, reliable and welcoming, wonderful with children and calm with other dogs. There are dogs that require human attention and need to feel like part of the family. They are easy to train. Some may be reserved with strangers but only if it is not well socialized from an early age. They may become detrimental if left long to do what they want.

Labrador's are a very popular breed which are a little more dominant and independent than the Golden Retriever dogs. Some of their qualities include: search and rescue, sled pulling, carts, agility, hunting, chasing, retrieving, guarding, police work, drugs detection and guide for blinds or even assistance dogs for the disabled. English Labrador's are calmer, have perk up ears and mature faster in comprising to Americans Labrador's.

Labrador Retriever Dogs will do okay in an apartment if sufficient exercise is offered. Dogs are fairly active indoors and will grow best in a medium-sized yard. These Dogs are energetic dogs, delighted to work and play more. They need so much exercise. There are dogs that eat a lot, and need regular train and moderate food ration to avoid becoming overweight.
