History

This breed of dog has come to be quite famous since the nineteenth century in Belgium before the war of 1914 in France. Part of their popularity comes from their beautiful facial expressions, body structure and intelligence. Their name comes from a castle south of Brussels and was determined in 1891. It is now well set and it can be distinguished from other types of Belgian Shepherds because of their long black coat.

General features
