Cute Things I Learned About Pugs
- 16/08/2012
If you have a pet pug, in my eyes you are very lucky. I've done some research on them for some time now because when I get one, I want to be ready. Pugs are so cute and loveable, in my opinion, and would make a great companion for me when I get to stay home everyday. Until then, I will keep learning as much as I can about them.
I often wonder what my life would be like if I had a pet pug. Having a pet dog is something I've always wanted but never could because of life circumstances. Now, more than ever, I am so ready. Only I can't, because of these same circumstances. All I could do now is learn as much as I can about them and then when it's time, I will be completely ready.
I've learned some really cute things about pugs. For one, they make terrible guard dogs. Pugs are just too friendly. They will tell you someone is there, but that's about it. Also, if you want a dog to exercise with, don't get a pug. They love to play, but will soon get tired and want a nice nap on the couch. That's fine with me, I love taking naps.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about their eating habits and how it can be a little dangerous for your pug's health. You will notice that there are many chubby pugs in this world and that's because they love to eat. Not only do they love to eat, they don't know when to stop. Having an overweight pug can be very bad for his health, so it's very important to not overfeed him and give him the recommended amount of food.
I have read a lot that pugs can be very stubborn and even act like a child at times. It's not as easy to train a pug than it is other dogs. However, when you are training your pug, treats are a good way to bribe him. Once he learns that a treat is coming after he performs a certain behavior, he will suddenly become a very fast learner. Again, don't go crazy with the treats as you don't want to overdo it.
Pugs become very attached (as with any dog) and will soon be your shadow, always by your side. It's not good to leave them home alone for long periods of time. Pugs love interaction and will soon become lonely and depressed. Plus, they are very curious and love to explore, checking out everything they can by sniffing and tasting. Therefore, never leave anything toxic around that can make them sick.
Because of their wrinkled face and flat nose, pugs tend to snort and snore a lot. They also shed seasonably and fart hourly. These kinds of things one can easily get used to and you will have so much fun with your pet pug. Because of their flat nose, they do not have the ability to cool themselves like other dogs can. This can be very dangerous since a pug can die from heat stroke if left out in the extreme heat for just half an hour!
I've learned so much about pugs by reading other people's stories. I hope to someday have my own stories about my very own pug, Henry or Mindy. Until this day, I will continue to prepare for this special day and learn all about pugs and pug health tips. I am determined to keep my pug healthy and give him a happy home.
My dream is to someday have a pet pug to take good care of. In doing research, I have come across some pretty interesting facts about pugs. I enjoy reading and learning all about their personalities. This article just highlights some interesting facts about pugs that I thought you would enjoy reading, because I know I have. Someday, I will have my very own personal stories to share. Thank you for reading.
