How To Make Sure You Find A Car Seat That Best Fits Your Dog
- 19/06/2020
Travelling with pets increases as we all want to visit places near and far. Indeed, there is an increasing range of pet-friendly accommodation from which to choose. It seems that pet-friendly motels and hotels are springing up everywhere.
There are fewer reasons, even when you are going on a long trip across international borders, against taking your dog along for the ride.
As a result, an increasing number of staycation dog owners are hitting the road with their dogs in a bid to see more of their world. If you're also considering the idea of travelling with your dog, you may already be thinking of buying the best dog car harness. If that’s the case it’s well worth having a look at iPetCompanion.
Our dogs are members of our families. It is fun, as well as convenient, to be able to take them with us when we hit the road. However, without careful planning and preparation, you may find you are putting your pets in danger.
Perhaps the best solution to ensure safe journeys is to install a specially designed doggy seat belt or harness. The majority of vehicles are not designed with our dogs in mind, This means regular seat belts won’t fit.
By buying the right car dog harness we can keep any size of dog safely strapped in. It will also discourage dogs to poke their heads out the window as you drive along. It’s too dangerous. They can be struck by all sorts of flying objects.
There is a range of options to ensure our dogs stay safe so there are no reasons for leaving our pooches at home.
Keep Dogs Safe In The Car
● Fit a Dog Harness: These are ideal for well-behaved dogs. This type of harness not only secures a dog it also provides a connector with a strap that can plug directly into a car’s seat belt mechanism.
● Use a Zipline Harness: These are purpose-designed for more active dogs, especially puppies, that can struggle to become settled. What the zipline does is restrain a dog while also enabling them to move around. They should be used with a suitable dog harness.
● Place The Dog in a Crate: Crates are good for the more relaxed dogs. What the crate ensures is that the dog is safe, secure, and comfortable. The crate needs to be large enough to fit your dog. He should be able to stand up and turn around.
● Get a Carry Box: These are ideal for small pups that tend to become anxious. It is an elevated box that offers them good views of their owner as well as the surroundings. It needs to be used in conjunction with a harness.
● Fit The Boot or Rear Space with a Dog Guard: This is a perfect solution for dogs that like to see you and to move around. What the guard does is prevent the dog from being thrown on top of you if there is an accident.
● Use a Back-Seat Barrier: These are particularly good for larger dogs who can struggle to get comfortable when they are restrained. What the barrier does is keep the dog on the back seat if you ever brake suddenly.
