dogs-christmas.jpgChristmas is coming and just the thought of the holidays makes us happy. But there are so many things to do to be prepared for the celebration - buy presents, decorate your home, invite friends and relatives, etc. And some of us might forget about one important thing - keeping our dogs safe.

Christmas holidays can be dangerous for your pet with all the decorations around and some other factors you didn’t even think about. It’s OK, sometimes it’s difficult to keep everything in mind, that’s why this article should be helpful. Read about the tips to keep your best puppy friend happy and safe.

Safe Decorations

You would be surprised how unpleasant all those sparkling ribbons and tinsel could be for your dog when he eats them. But doctors at the veterinary emergency would tell you that that’s one of the most frequent cases they have to deal with during the Christmas holidays. Try to keep such items out of reach of your pet.

Light cords are very dangerous if your pet chews on them. Keep them out of reach of your dog or don’t use them at all. Or consider teaching your dog not to chew on cords. Just buy a chew toy as a nice holiday present on the money you’ve earned on esports betting - if you are into that.

Warn about Your Dog

If you are planning to host a party and you’ve invited friends or relatives with small kids, warn them about your dog. Kids could cause stress for a dog that isn’t used to interacting with them. Yes, most dogs love kids, but kids’ shouting could be too overwhelming for the dog who was used to a less loud environment.

Safe Trip

If you are planning to travel and want to take your pup with you, make sure to consult a vet before departing. If you are visiting another country, you will anyways need documents proving that your dog is vaccinated, so you may consider vaccination to protect your dog from dangerous illnesses.

Chocolate

You are aware that chocolate can kill a dog, but your guests might be unaware of this fact. Warn them that chocolate contains theobromine which is extremely dangerous for the pet. It can stimulate the cardiovascular and central nervous system which could kill the dog.

Keep the Habits

Don’t ignore your dog, your little friend will feel lonely. Try not to upset your pet friend and keep the routine your dog is used to. Training, playing, having long walks - you should stick to the usual schedule, so your pup won’t be upset.
