Distemper: A Big Deal in Dogs

When raising animals in the house, pet hairs are the most common problem. However, this does not affect the importance of pet health. In this article, I will give you information about distemper, a disease that is widespread in dogs and how to prevent and treat them.
Cause:
This is a very contagious disease caused by a virus called Paramyxovirus, which attacks dogs and some other predators.
Symptoms:
- High fever (≥103.5 ° F), mucosal inflammation, swollen eyes, tearing and constant irritation.
- Short-winded, wheezing and groaning due to pus.
- Gastrointestinal mucositis, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, and mucus. The inflammatory bowel disease causes the dog to be exhausted and die quickly due to dehydration, blood loss, electrolytes. Neurological syndrome is also common in dogs such as trembling, walking cramped, seizures, eyes upside down, drooling.
- The face, abdominal skin, groin, armpit of the dog usually have pimples breaking and drying out scaly.
This disease is popular for 2- to-6-month-old dogs. Over-a-year ones are less likely to be infected. Some dogs after the treatment of the disease often have neurological sequelae such as walking, shivering when walking
Prevention:
- Have your dog vaccinated at three months with Canine distemper inactivated vaccines or DHPPi + L vaccine (Holland): 5 simultaneous caries, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, influenza, Lepto.
- Implement veterinary hygiene and care nurture good help dogs have resistance to disease.
- The cage and environment should be cleaned periodically, limited to spreading and preventing pollution.
Treatment:
The disease does not have specific drugs, when the dog is infected, isolate immediately to avoid infection to other strong dogs and take the dog to the veterinary clinic for guidance treatment.
Besides, you can also consider the following antibiotics: Vime-Tobra, Amoxi 15% LA, Vimexyson COD, Spectylo, Lincocin 10%, combined with the drug foster following: vitamin C, B. fortified, Paravet, Atropin, Na.campho. Because dogs have a lot of diarrhoea, 5% glucose solution will replenish water and electrolytes for dogs to recover.
