Bernedoodle Coat Types
- 26/05/2021
Bernedoodle is a brand in itself, which is a mix of Bernese mountain dog and Poodle. Breeders use the standard Mini and Tiny Poodles to get the different sizes of the Bernedoodles. Moreover, Bernedoodles have different generations and a variety of coat types. This article will discuss the different coat types of the Bernedoodles, which include straight, wavy, and curly coats.
But one major fact about their coat is that the breeder can’t guarantee their coat type, color, and other important factors. They can change their look and appearance when they grow to their adult age. Let’s see the different coat types of the Bernedoodles.
Straight Coat Bernedoodle
The straight coat type of the Bernedoodles is more like the Bernese Mountain dog. They shed more as compared to the other coat types of the Bernedoodles and are less recommended for allergic people. If you have a dander or hair allergy, don’t buy straight hair Bernedoodles. However, the straight coat of the Bernedoodles doesn’t feature 100% straight hairs as it has slight waves on it.
Wavy Coat Bernedoodle
The wavy coat of the Bernedoodles is also known as the Fleece coat, which is the most common coat type in the Bernedoodles. This coat type has a clear wavy appearance as compared to the straight coat Bernedoodles. It’s a low to non-shedding coat and good for allergic people.
Curly Coat Bernedoodles
Curly coat is the most important and famous coat type of the Bernedoodles, which is very attractive for allergic people due to its hypoallergenic features. Although the curlier hair Bernedoodles also shed the hairs, their hair remains in their tight curlier coat. So, make sure to brush and groom your curlier Bernedoodle regularly.
In short, we can say the curlier the Bernedoodle, the lesser the shedding, and the straighter the coat, the greater the shedding. But one main thing you need to remember that hypoallergenic coats need more care and grooming than the straighter and wavy coat types.
