Do you have a hard time with Shedding Dogs? There are several ways to help with all the extra fur around your house. Grooming your dog on a regular basis will help prevent you from having to clean up fur all the time. While you are bathing and brushing you can have quality time with bonding with your best friend. Below you will find 5 Tips - How to Help with Shedding Dogs by Grooming.

Tip 1 - Bathing your Dog:

* Never use human shampoo, dog shampoo has a PH balanced formula made for your dogs natural oils. Human shampoo will strip away their natural oils and may cause dry/itchy skin.

* When bathing a puppy use a "tear free" dog shampoo formula that is gentle. This will make is less painful if you accidentally get it in their eyes.

* You will need to make sure the water temperature is warm. Not to hot or too cold.

* I recommend putting a rubber mat down in the tube to help prevent your dog from slipping.

* Give your dog lots of reassurance while slowly pouring water over the body slowly to wet their coat. You don't want them to be scared. Do not pour water over the head; use a wash cloth for face and ears.

* Rinse soap out completely. While you are rinsing check for lumps, wounds, insect, sores, etc.

Tip 2 - Drying Off:

* It is in your best interest to dry your dog off in the tub with a towel. This will help save you a big mess in the bathroom to clean up.

* Lay a towel on the floor before you let pooch out of the tub. Most dogs love to roll after bathing to help dry them off even more.

* If you bathe your dog outside they will most likely roll in the grass or even some like to in the dirt to dry off even more. One good idea is to play ball or play with their favorite toy for a while so they can run around and dry off.

Tip 3 - Brushing:

* Use a soft brush on puppies to help prevent hurting them. For Shedding Dogs use a brush that is made to help remove the extra loose fur. Make sure you don't press down to hard and hurt them.

* Start by brushing head to tail and then neck to legs.

* Brushing is Important to start when your dog is a puppy so they will get used to it and enjoy getting brushed. Another Important reason to brush is to keep the natural oils flowing through their coat.

* When possible brush your dog outside. You won't have to clean up a mess of fur all over the ground unlike in the house.

Tip 4 - Clipping Nails:

* It is recommended to start clipping nails at an early age. You want your puppy to get used to you touching their paws. When they get older he/she will tolerate you cutting their nails.

* Clip their nails at regular intervals to help keep nails cut. You don't want to cut to a lot off at a time. This also helps your dog get familiar and used to you cutting with dog clippers.

* Make sure you are cutting long nails and not nails that don't need cutting. Be very careful not to cut into the quick.

* File the edge of the nails to make them smooth. If you have problems with your dogs nails chipping, you can try putting on nail polish. With some dogs this will help with the nails splitting or chipping.

* If you are unsure how to clip dog nails, Contact your veterinarian and have them show you.

Tip 5 - Cleaning Ears:

* You may have to lift the ears depending on your breed of dog to clean them. When you look make sure you don't see anything unusual.

* Use a paper towel to clean but be very careful not to go to deep in the ear.

* If the ear smells bad it may have an infection. Please contact your veterinarian if you need to.
