Top Quick - Wins to Boost Dog Training
- 10/04/2019
Since the time from when loneliness has been a part of human beings, dogs have then been good companions to them. Consequently, people still adopt dogs for numerous purposes: entertainment, investigation or to simply show off. But, what is the meaning of being a proud owner of a lovely dog if your one is not trained properly even when the first cloned police dog of the Chinese police force is?
However, we care for you and want you to take pride in your dog’s response to your instructions that require it to be trained in the most scientific way. Therefore, today our article will be digging into the top quick-wins enough to improve your dog’s training in no time.
Give it a name
You should never summon your dog shouting “hey, you come here, come here, my boy”. Instead, call it with a name like Rocky, Nicky, or anything else but give it a name and introduce it to that very well. Once the dog is well-introduced to own name, onwards whenever you will call it or instruct to do something its response will far better than ever before.
Teach through real movement
Have you ever been able to swim if your parents or trainer kept on telling you the rules and regulations of it, or showed you how to move hands and legs in the water? We know you would never be able if anyone hadn’t shown you the live movement swimming in the pool.
Then, how can you expect your dog to carry out anything you instruct it with words? So, onwards, we recommend you to instruct the dog with a live demonstration. Once the movements are recorded in its brain, then you can get anything done simply asking for that.
Be a friend, not an instructor
Everyone prefers a friend to an instructor, so the dog is. Therefore, you should avoid the boss like attitude before it rather, try to be its friend and teach through playing. Let the dog not understand that it’s being instructed to do something forcibly. Let it be spontaneous and take pause frequently. In another word, be its leader rather than the boss, which is more effective.
Show it related videos
You can even enjoy a movie with it in which a dog plays an important role or let it watch videos in which trained dogs do something. Both of these will stimulate its brain to carry out anything subconsciously in the way it watched previously.
Training collar
When you find that none of the above-discussed techniques is effective enough to boost the training of your dog, you can eventually go for a training collar. A training collar is a muffler-like object with well-furnished features along with a sensor. The collar comes with a remote controller with which you can decide the activities of your dog sitting far away from it.
What you need to do is to bind the collar around the dog’s neck and use the remote controller to instruct it how you want it to walk, drink, sleep, eat, sound, and so on. When you feel like the dog abides by your teaching by itself, you should use the collar no more as excessive use of it may be harmful.
Final words
In the end, it can be said that boosting the dog training is not that much tough as it sounds to be. Actually, dogs are much closer to human beings by nature. So, the more you become humanistic to them, the faster they respond to your training. Therefore, before being a good trainer, it is imperative to be a good human.
