The Large and Small Munsterlander

  • 22/11/2010

The Munsterlander dog can be found in two sizes, the Large Munsterlander and the Small Munsterlander and both are considered to be sufficiently different in size and function that they are considered to be "close cousins" in the Munsterlander family, but are bred separately. The Munsterlanders originated in Germany, where they were bred and used exclusively as a hunting, pointing and retrieving game dog.

Your best bet would be to contact the Irish Kennel Club (if and when they answer their phones) and ask for Clubs or Associations Secretaries whom might be able to tell you of reputable breeders who have litters available for purchase.

Thanks for the reply Peter.

I contacted the IKC to which they replied contact the English kennel club as they have no breeder contact for this breed.
