A hooligan cat attacked SEVEN pit bull terriers – sending one to hospital and the rest home with their tails between their legs.

The thuggish feline, named Baby, reportedly ‘ambushed’ dog walker Kyla Grover and her group of trusty canines in Victoria, Canada.

While speaking to the Vancouver Sun, Kyla confirmed the brutal assault was completely unprovoked.

She said: “The dogs were walking by, completely minding their own business.

“The cat just goes at all of the dogs, not backing down.”

Pooch enthusiast Kyla said the leashed pit bulls, despite their breed’s fearsome reputation, did not fight back but did start barking in pain after the attack.

She said: “The cat is swiping at them and latched onto one of the dog’s faces.

“I got bit and scratched in the process of trying to separate them.

“I spent the whole night at emergency because cat bites are nasty.”

The cat’s owner Del Thompson insists his elderly cat, who he adopted 16 years ago, would have normally been intimidated by such a large group of dogs.

He said: “She’s a watchdog and doesn’t know it. Cats and dogs don’t get along too well sometimes.”

Thompson and his wife agreed to pay the $222 vet bill for Bandida, the dog which the sustained the worst injuries to its face.

Bandida’s owner, Javiera Rodriguez, said the poor mutt’s face was carved up.

She said: “The vet hospital thought it was a raccoon that attacked her. She’s on antibiotics.”

Kyla added that she was shocked by the cat’s behaviour and said the attack shows that pitt bulls can be trusted as safe family pets.

She said: “That’s not normal for a cat, cats are pretty skittish, especially when there’s seven dogs there.”

“Pit bulls are just like any other dog. They’re great family pets and they didn’t stand up for themselves at all, even when a cat was attacking them.”

Del Thompson’s wife Betty Jean, 78, said she is mystified by the public interest in the savage attack.

She revealed she was tending her garden when cream-coloured Baby launched the vicious assault.

Betty Jean insisted that the incident has been exaggerating.

She said: “She’s kind of a slow sort of thinking cat, but one thing is she is very protective of me.

“There is no ambush about it. Somebody is blowing this all up.”
