Muslims Declare Jihad on Dogs in Europe

  • 02/02/2012

muslim-dog.jpgA Dutch Muslim politician has called for a ban on dogs in The Hague, the third-largest city in the Netherlands.

Islamic legal tradition holds that dogs are "unclean" animals, and some say the call to ban them in Holland and elsewhere represents an attempted encroachment of Islamic Sharia law in Europe.

This latest canine controversy -- which the Dutch public has greeted with a mix of amusement and outrage -- follows dozens of other Muslim-vs-dog-related incidents in Europe. Critics say it reflects the growing assertiveness of Muslims in Europe as they attempt to impose Islamic legal and religious norms on European society.

The Dutch dustup erupted after Hasan K

Peter,
Thank you for printing my comment. I owe you an apology in part - I was under the impression that you actually wrote the story. I can see now that the text as it appears on your site also appears on numerous sites across the net. Most of them are hate sites, like Bare Naked Islam (It isn't Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you). I believe the story originated with The Stonegate Institute, an American organisation with a history of posting anti-Islamic stories. As it happens, this story has since been refuted:

"Hasan Küçük, fraction head of the Islam Democrats in the Hague, denies the party wants to ban dog ownership in the city. He says his words were taken out of context.

During a debate last week about the municipal policy regarding animals, Küçük said that he thinks it's pitiful that dogs are sometimes shut in an apartment for 23 hours a day."

I'm sorry to hear that your wife was spat at outside a mosque, that kind of behaviour shouldn't be tolerated. However, I suspect that this incident may have prejudiced you towards Muslims, which is a shame. Have you asked any of your Muslim friends to read through the article that you re-posted in its entirety? (btw - it's usual practice to give credit when using another's work, although in this instance I imagine the Stonegate won't mind as long as more and more people get to read their poison).

" ... fail to see the bigger picture here: that we are being potentially dictated to in Europe, by a VERY small minority. It is, simply put, the thin end of the wedge." Actually, I do see the bigger picture. That picture is one where the right are busy fixating on a problem that simply doesn't exist. In this particular case the story didn't even happen. Yet it has allowed the Stonegate people to publish, and send out into the world for every crank (and I am not calling you a crank, I'm referring to BNI and their ilk) to copy and paste, an article filled with links to stuff from 4 years ago and other less reliable items, that all combine to create a feeling of distrust or hatred towards our Muslim brothers. Not to put too fine a point on it, it was from Islamophobic sites like Pamela Gellar, Robert Spencer, and the EDL that the Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik took his inspiration, using texts he found there to create his manifesto.

The whole Sharia law thing is a red herring. Keeping populations afraid allows the powers that be to continue to keep us distracted.

This article seems to be doing little other than trying to engender ill will towards Muslims. The main headline is simply wrong, and the story itself is about some idiotic politician in Holland trying to garner votes. You then link to a host of old stories from the UK, why?

I understand the EDL is hiring, perhaps you could help them out by becoming their press officer.

Tony

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion and I to mine. "Headlines" are just that ... if I were to use some boring old headline no-one would read the piece! Most newsprint actually employ a specific person to write these. Or, obviously, you've never read or seen The Sun or the old Sunday News of the World.

But, then again, you totally fail to see the bigger picture here: that we are being potentially dictated to in Europe, by a VERY small minority. It is, simply put, the thin end of the wedge.

If you were a woman you would protest from the pinnacle of a minaret ... my wife was spat on by "Muslims" outside a Mosque and, on reporting it to the Police, was told there was NOTHING that they WOULD do about it! If WE (Christians) were to spit on burqa clad Muslim women we'd be banged up into Mountjoy before you could utter the word "racist" ...

And, incidentally, I have a number of Muslim friends who aren't trying to ram Sharia Law down own respective gobs!! And, they integrate with their indigenous country's culture and beliefs quite admirably.

Perhaps, YOU should apply for a "Politically Correct" job yourself; I believe Naas Council is currently recruiting for a Councillor who won't say boo to a goose. Undoubtedly, you'd make for a totally maliable politician (like the rest of them).
