Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Groups - Making a Difference
- 23/11/2010
Did you know you could adopt a purebred dog from a rescue group? Although rescue dogs come in all breeds and all ages from puppies to senior dogs, if you know what breed of dog you want, you can find it in a breed specific rescue organization. For instance, a Miniature Schnauzer rescue group adopts out homeless, abandoned, unwanted schnauzer dogs to loving permanent homes. These alert, spirited, and intelligent dogs, which are usually recognized for their bushy eyebrows and beard, make great family pets.
Dogs find their way into rescue centers for many different reasons due to no fault of their own. Sometimes they come from abusive or neglectful situations and other times dogs and puppies are surrendered by their owners who can no longer care for them or just decide owning a dog is too much responsibility. Whatever the case, these dogs need loving permanent homes. And while you can't save them all, you can make a difference.
And making a difference is what it's all about. It reminds me of the The Starfish Story from Loren Eiseley's The Star Thrower and how each one of us has the potential of truly making a difference in the life of others. Here is a short adaptation of Loren Eiseley's story, The Star Thrower:
Early one morning an old man walking down the beach noticed the tide had brought in thousands of starfish. They were washed up on shore and not able to make it back into the water. The old man shook his head in disbelief and thought, "It's such a shame that all these starfish will die on the beach".
As he continued walking, he came upon a young boy who was feverishly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one at a time. He was completely out of breath but persevered. The old man said to him: "Son, you might as well quit. There are thousands of starfish. You can't possibly make a difference!"
As the young boy continued tossing the starfish back into the ocean, he replied: "I made a difference to that one, and that one, and that one."
The old man thought for a moment and knew the boy was right. He bent down, picked up a starfish and threw it back into the ocean. And as he continued helping the young boy return the starfish to their ocean home, he knew that they were making a difference.
The Star Thrower is a classic story of the power within each one of us to make a difference in the lives of others. You can make a difference!

Hi I just lost my boy schnauzer miniature. I am devastating. My other dog lady sznaucer miniature is so miss him too. She has no company to trust and play. If any one has schnauzer miniature to give away please contact with me.
I looking for a Miniature Schnauzer pup for Xmas for my two young girls. The eldest has Asthma but has always loved dogs. She’s very allergic to her grannies Labrador but I believe Miniature Schnauzers are ideal pets for Asthmatic children.
If you don’t have any available perhaps you’d know of a reputable breeder as I hear a lot about poor living conditions by some breeders and would like to avoid these people.
Regards
Jarlath

My father has a 4 year old purebred standard schnauzer. Unfortunately, he is no longer able to look after him and will have to put him down. We tried selling him but he hasn't had interraction with any person other than my father, and didn't take to strangers.
He has until tomorrow before he is put down.
If anyone thinks they can hanle him, please contact me.

Hi, my family and I are looking for a miniature schnauzer as a family pet. Unfortunately the prices the breeders are asking are far beyond our ability to pay. We can give a wonderful loving family home to a miniature schnauzer and I'm hoping someone out there might read this message and make our dream come true. Kind regards Mary.
that's so true.........and all it takes is for one person to care and do something to make things happen
