Miniature Poodle - Facts You Must Know Before Adopting Miniature Poodle

Breed Description
Bred down from Standard Poodle, the Miniature Poodle is a squarely-built well-proportioned breed. Between the sizes of Standard Poodle and Toy Poodle, the Miniature Poodle weighs around 15-17 pounds, and stands between 11-15 inches in height.
Coat
With the distinctive curly coat, the Miniature Poodle has a thick coat of hair that can easily mat. This breed has a wide variety of coat colors, and is often a mixture of them. The most commonly seen are solid colors such as white, silver, cream, red, black, apricot, blue, brown, gray, and cafe au lait.
Activity
The grace and stylishness of the Miniature Poodle has a robust characteristic, still maintaining the great stamina and sporting instinct. The exercise they will need daily is a brisk walk, and the chance to romp and run around in a securely fenced area. This athletic breed is highly skilled in the sport of agility, and will enjoy swimming. They usually excel at any sport involving the use of the mind, and can amazingly be trained to perform almost anything within their physical capabilities.
Temperament
An intelligent breed of dog, the Miniature Poodle is easy to train. These good-natured, delightful, and lively dogs makes excellent family pet that is capable of adapting to any kind of situation and will never stop trying to do everything their owner wants them to do. The Miniature Poodle is highly trainable, and will be appropriate for a person who wants an exceptionally obedient dog. This affectionate little dog is slightly wary with strangers, yet can still accept them. They particularly love being around their family and friends, and should never be therefore left alone for extended periods of time. A little more sensitive than Standard Poodles, these little creatures generally get along great with children and other animals
Overview
The Miniature Poodle has been widely known for being a family companion. These poodles feature both their deep devotion towards family, and a light-hearted outlook in life.
Care
The Miniature Poodle requires regular brushing, clipping and trimming every 4-6 weeks to keep their coats free of mats. If this breed is not to be shown, their coats can simply be trimmed short, emphasizing their short ears, a whiskery faces, with no pompoms on their feet, head, or tail.
Training
The Miniature Poodle is known to be one of the easiest dogs to train given that it is based on kindness, firmness, fairness, and consistency, focusing on praise and a treat for doing a great job. Physical or harsh verbal methods should be avoided as this will both destroy their responsiveness and trust. This breed is eager to learn and willing to please and should therefore learn new tasks quickly. Owners should always be ahead of this dog to maintain their interest.
Character
The Miniature Poodle is affectionate and lively, making a delightful companion dog. They love having a busy life, and belonging to a family.
