It grows to a height of 12 to 14 inches (300mm - 350mm), and comes in all sorts of colour shades from solid black, black, silver, pepper or salt. Characteristics and Care

This robust and agile dog is very active and proves to be a very good candidate for dog training. With its adventure seeking spirit it is common to find the Miniature Schnauzer scavenging for vermin on the farm or out in the fields, it makes an excellent guard dog since it can portray the zeal and ferociousness of a dog much larger than itself. The Miniature Schnauzer is very resistant to ailments and harsh weather conditions which make visits to the vet less likely. Having two coats of fur means it does not moult easily but you do need to take care of its fur and skin constantly checking for any pests or vermin such as lice, fleas or ticks.

Whether it is a showbiz dog, a home lounger, a guard dog, a guide dog, or a man's best friend, the Miniature Schnauzer is the perfect fit. In the dog lies the spirit of adventure, the sense of belonging and a partner who walks you through thick and thin. The Schnauzer will also suffice as a toy dog for your children, a present or gift to the ones you love.

As they are an active breed this dog needs to go on daily walks and have plenty of exercise or it can become frustrated and upset resulting in problems at home. Making sure your Schnauzer gets plenty of exercise is the easiest way of keeping him happy.
