What food do you give your dog?

 

I feed a fish based complete food called Kronch, there are a wide rang of high quality brands you can get, mostly in pet shops or vets, like Jameswellbeloved, Redmills, Hills, Burns etc, which are a lot better quality than any supermarket brand.

 

I have never had any problem with the food my dog is on, its a complete food with all the right minerals, oils etc and he does very well on it.

 

Some dogs do well on different feed and not all types suit every dog so it can trial and error to see which one suits each dog.

There is no best dog food as such, just the one that suits your dog best and the best quality you can afford to feed, not everyone can afford the higher priced ones but there are all different price ranges, but the highest price one isnt necessarily the best one. I find Rpyal Canin way too over priced for what it is.

I found royal canin to be very expensive so hes now on his first bag of red mills. I havent noticed any real difference in him on red mills except that he doesnt seem to like it very much, so I bought a bag of james wellbeloved after hearing good reviews about it. Its actually a good bit cheaper than royal canin, and I got a sample pack of it last week which he ate in one go. I havent started him on it yet but if he likes it il hopefully stick to it, even though it means travelling from sligo to longford to get it!!

I know you question said '' what do you find to be the best brand of dry food? ''  but I have my girl Juno (dogue de bordeaux) on RMB (Raw Meaty Bones) diet. After months of research and weighing up pro's and con's I made the switch from dry kibble to RMB. I did have her on dry kibble for a few months, but the RMB diet has done wonders for her coat, teeth, energy levels and very importantly her poos are small and dry. Her body absorbs so much more from the RMB that her waste is greatly reduced.  She gets no processed, cooked food or veg.

I do give her the odd carrot to chew and sometimes an over ripe bananna......but she would actually eat anything if given to her

I know this diet is not for everyone but I would reccomend it whole heartedly.

It costs me less to feed my 47kg (still growing) dog on RMB when compared to the average premium dry feed. After calling into butchers and looking for local (and not so local) meat processing plants I now pay less than €40 per month !

I think as the others have said any of the good quality food is the same and it really just depends on what works for your dog...

My sister fed her dog the Royal canin junior and he is thriving on it.

my dogs have raw meaty bones diet mainly, as i didnt like what i read about proprietary dog food. Fact, all dogs will end up with tooth decay at a young age if not given natural products to clean their teeth, who gets the money for cleaning, vets!!!who suggests science plan dog food for puppies at sixty for euro a sack, vets, they're on commission for each bag sold. Dogs are meant to gnaw and crunch, if you had a dog like mine where the food doesnt even touch the sides, dried food would not clean her teeth. there are no hard and fast rules but the more natural the diet the healthier your dog will be. My dogs have lovely white teeth, glossy coats and have never had anything wrong with them. the only time they go to the vets is for vaccinations. it does work out cheaper, you just have to invest a little time researching sources for your fresh dog food.( no offal) and taking a little time to prepare the fruit and veg if you work. best bit is that your dog doesnt go to the loo as much because they are utilising the diet in the right way, like nature intended.

I belive Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) helps reduce tear stains.

I have used it to help with dry skin on my dogue, must buy another bottle as it also goes nicely on chips  

I added it to Juno's evening meal but have read that you can add it to the dogs water.

 

It is supposed to help with dogs coat,skin,digestive, uniary systems and some belive it can ease joint pain in arthritic dogs !

Buying a bottle might be a cheaper option to Angle Eyes and benefit your dog in other ways !
