Hi All
Here is one to ponder....
One evening my small collie was getting rather excited at noises outside the house so I put a lead on her to I keep her from running around the house like a loon. Immediately I put the lead on she settled down at my feet and didnt even think about moving.
At night the dog sleeps in my room but often wakes up about 2 or 3 times a night. this as you can imagine doesnt help me be bright and busy tailed in the morning.
As soon as I put the lead on she goes in a crouch and is quite submissive. Usually when Im going for a walk I take her and the dogs all out together and she is very lively then. I have an idea that she knows that when a lead goes on her and not the other dogs she thinks she is going to the vets or somewhere. Is this likely
Anyone experience anything like this with their own dogs?

Well when I put the halti on my dog in the house he goes stock still, he just moves his eyes around following you, he could go from jumping all over the place to statue still, he's been wearing it for years and walks fine on it so it's not that he's nervous or frightened by it, I just reckon he knows harness on= fun run all over the place walk, halti on= serious walk no messing about.
Also today after I returned from a walk today I came in the front door and the cat was waiting for us, she came over to sniff us, the dog still had his halti and lead on (lead dropped on the floor) when the cat came over and sniffed him top to bottom (must be wondering where we were). Now usually he'd sniff her back and walk around following her but today he stood again statue still letting her sniff him, even when she sniffed his butt he had the tail down and ears back and just shuffled away from her a little. As soon as the halti came off he was back to normal.
Is it a proper lead your using? Might be a safer idea to just tie some light string onto the clip, just in case it got caught on something. Weird how they react in different situation, wish they could speak!

Here was the sniffing incident today! Apologize for the quality, not sure if it's the video or my computer but the qualities dreadful.

It is a proper lead but its only one her when Im in the room or when she is sleeping in our room either in the crate or on the dog bed. I think its safe but will have a look round with new eyes and see if there is anything that could go wrong.
Nice cat :)
