No, once the dog is named you cant change it, but as Elsa said, you can register a kennel name of your own and then add it to the end of the dogs name.

You just pick a name that you like or that means something to you then you apply to the kennel club for it, you might not get it though, as it can take a few options to get it, as no 2 people can have the same kennel name. You have to pay the kennel club too for the name, check out their site for info, www.ikc.ie

Also it's worth noting, to add your affix/kennel name you will also need a letter from the breeder giving you permission to add the name and pay an additional fee of 13 euros on top of registration fee

You cant change the registered name (i.e. take out any part of the existing name) but you can add your registered affix with permission of the breeder and the correct fee. But you must apply for an affix first of course. For example one of our Russkiy boys comes from the Russian Kennel "Volga Sharm" and was registered originally as Volga Sharm Krasavchik; I registered him with IKC as Volga Sharm Krasavchik at HotRatz (HotRatz being my affix)

as someone said above you can't just add your affix. You need the written permission of your dogs breeder and it has to be added by the kennel club. you can't just add it, the name of the dog entered at a show would have to match the name the kennel club have on record.

you do yes you need to send in your dogs papers and also the letter of approval and the fee...you then get your papers back with your affix added. I am looking into it as well:) have to get a nice name though.
