I'm back...I think!
Have been fairly busy with allsorts, between the rescue and other stuff. Help is quickly available for rescue dogs on facebook as 'fans' following the page can be reached easily so I've been focussing my efforts there instead of here.
Still busy as ever- not a good thing in the rescue world!

News....erm, my daughter did her Inter Cert and my son did the Leaving Cert. Jamie did extremely well with all As, and Chloe gets her results next Wed. My youngest, Crona, is gone into 6th class.

I gave up smoking 4 months ago- cold turkey on May 1st, not planned, just happened...and haven't touched one since.

Lost 3 stone. Still doing mini marathons to raise funds for HB.

Sold my jeep... the idea was to trade it for an Estate but so far an estate within my budget hasn't come up... Bought my Dad's Avensis, and am trying to sell/trade that at the mo for a diesel estate.

My mother died in April, and my husband's father died in June, so things have been very hard here lately for all of us.

Still gigging, though my heart isn't in it anymore, but it helps pay the bills!

And still at the medical stuff.

So that's about it... Looking forward to chatting again, missed you all :)

Oh, and we still have the 5 dogs and 7 cats- thank dog we've managed to avoid adding to those numbers! Big smile

Hi Socket,

Nice to see you back here.  Rescue world is a bit mad.  I started out going to help out walking a dog and now up to me neck in all things houndy.  I wonder will there every be a day when rescues are not needed .

On the car front We changed our car recently to a  Skoda Fabia Combi Estate (petrol not diesel0  Got one at what I thought was a reasonable price and its great for the dogs also its cheaper on road tax than our last car. Might be worth a look.

Socket,

a full tank costs about €60 and we get 750Km out if.

Dont know if thats economical or not - I just think of cars as get in, turn key and drive.   All other things dont really register.
