Farewell Tobes....

   Mam's Collie Toby has been laid to rest....
He'd lost a lot of weight suddenly about 2 months ago, got picky with his food....food was changed, teeth and gums looked at, they were fine....went off that food as well....still not putting on any weight... 
Long story short- ultrascan showed a tumour in his bladder and a lot of bacteria in his urine. Put on antibiotics and meds proven to shrink tumours, and a prescription diet. He was wetting himself several times during the night, even though Mam and Dad were getting up to bring him out to relieve himself. He spent a lot of time indoors cuddling up to Puss, even though he had always favoured the outdoors. 
Last week he started to show signs of being uncomfortable and
restless.....he was still wagging that tail of his- still begging for
the ball to be thrown for him- but most of the time hadn't a clue what
to do with himself. In the past week or so he literally turned into a skeleton....Second ultrasound last week wasn't good and Toby was given 2-3 weeks.
It was time to let him go.... I was told this morning that Toby crossed the Bridge on Tuesday. 

He'll be very sorely missed by us all....I'm sure even the horses will think it strange to see Mam down the field without the ever loyal Toby by her side.

Goodbye Tobes, I loved you like you were my own...
