Just looking for some advice of anyone?? I have decided to buy a crate as im having difficulty trying to get my 3 year old Bichon to sleep in his bed. Long story short his bed is in my room, he used to sleep downstairs but due to some unfortunate housemates I thought it safer to keep him with me. Anyway they are now gone and if I try to put his bed into another room he scratches and cries, he’ll sleep in his bed in my room but when I wake in the morning he is on the end of the bed which I don’t want!! Has anyone had similar occurrences with their dogs and any advice on how to slowly introduce the crate.
Hes recently being neutered, hasn’t made much of a difference although he only got his stitches out a few days ago. I’m worried he’s suffering from separation anxiety I want him to be a happy dog, but lately he’s getting very cross with me and sometimes growls and snaps. Any advice is welcomed

Link here on a step by step giude to introducing your dog to crates http://irishdogs.ie/Forum/crates-crate-training-info_topic9176.html
The one single thing you need to focus on straightaway is the growling and snapping....you have to address that and nip it in the bud, it won't go away by itself and will get worse if the dog feels he's entitled and allowed to behave like that. |
