The Most Talented Dogs On The Planet
- 21/06/2019
While every pooch is special in its own right, there are some breeds out there that have unique characteristics and special abilities, which is why they have become much-loved dogs by people from across the world.
If you want to find out which dogs are naturally intelligent, offer distinctive skills, or are the easiest to train, check out this list of arguably the most talented dogs on the planet.
German Shepherd
Topping this list is the German Shepherd, which is one of the most intelligent canines in the world. Plus, they have the ability to accurately smell different scents. Due to their superb intellect, physical strength, and exceptional nose for smells, they are commonly used for police work, and they also can excel in the following roles:
- Protection work
- Guard dog work
- Drug-sniffing
- Military activities
Labrador Retriever
Labrador retrievers’ talents tie in with their name, as they are excellent assistants. For example, they can use their nose to sniff for drugs and bombs, which is why they are commonly used for search and rescue work. Plus, labradors can detect illnesses and are happy to carry items in their mouth for their owner.
Greyhound
Greyhounds are not only one of the oldest breeds of dog, dating back more than 8,000 years, but they are also one of the gentlest animals you’d be lucky enough to own. While they are generally sleepy canines, they also display great athletic ability. It’s for this reason why many people place bets on greyhound racing at Unibet.
Poodle
One dog breed that is often underrated for its intelligence is the pretty poodle. Despite being cute and cuddly, the poodle is an intelligent, active canine that can be used for police work.
What’s more, they are obedient dogs and can easily follow orders from their owners, as they are often eager to please and are, therefore, easy to train. Plus, they are also excellent therapy dogs due to their affable temperament. So, they are a perfect pet to introduce into your home.
Bloodhound
Another breed known for assisting police and law enforcement is the bloodhound, as they can quickly and easily hunt for various scents, so are perfect for tracking substances or even fugitives. As they are excellent hunters, they can help police to quickly solve a variety of cases. Plus, due to their pleasant nature and adorable appearance, they are the perfect pooches to incorporate into a family home.
Weimaraner
There is a belief that Weimaraner dogs are untrainable, but this isn’t the case. In fact, the opposite is true, as they are probably one of the most physically and mentally talented dog breeds on the planet.
Not only are they easy to train, but they also have natural guarding, hunting, and fetching abilities. Plus, you can expect to find them in many dog shows, as they can quickly pick up on dog tricks and are more than happy to show off their skills in front of a crowd.
