Great Renovations You And Your Dog Will Love
- 05/04/2019
Having a dog is a great thing, but not all dogs are the same, and neither are all owners. Some spend all their free time with their pets, while the others just let them run around, paying no attention to them. If you want your dog to be truly happy, you need to give it a place to play and an area where it can feel safe and at home. The best way to do that is by introducing certain renovations into your living space and making sure these ideas work for you and your dog as well. If you too want to do that, but don’t know how, here are a few projects you might want to explore.
Dog doors
This is probably the most important innovation you need to introduce into your home, especially if your dog loves spending an equal amount of time indoors and outdoors, and keeps coming in and out of your home every once in a while. Dog doors used to be quite simple back in the day – they were just cut out of your regular entrance doors and that was pretty much it – but not anymore.
Since we now live in a new world full of technological advances, dog doors are taken to another level as well. Reliable electronic doors are one of the ideas you should look into, and these will surely help your pet get in and out more easily. You’ll also be able to control these doors on your own, thus limiting access to your indoor space and encouraging your dog to stay outside more than before.
New flooring
No matter how much time your dog spends indoors, the chances are your floors are going to get scratched and will soon look like they were installed a million years ago. This could easily turn into a tragedy, especially if you’ve redone your floors recently, which is why introducing a few changes might be necessary.
Durable surfaces such as concrete and tile are the best choices you could make, because they’re easy to install, easy to clean, and quite durable, which means your dog won’t be able to damage them too much. If you opt for cheaper options such as bamboo floors, though, you might regret your decision in the future, so make sure to protect your floors against your dog’s dangerous claws.
New kitchen layout
All dogs love spending time indoors, but it seems that the kitchen, the living room, and your master bedroom are their favourite spots. But, since most owners feed them in the kitchen, this is the area that requires your attention the most, and you might want to consider remodelling it and introducing a new layout. This is particularly useful with small kitchens that need to maximize their space and put every inch to good use.
This is a project that requires quite a lot of planning and time, but it’s going to be worth it in the end – just imagine how much fun your dog will have in the new feeding area and how much you’ll enjoy having your own meals just a few feet away. What you need to do is hire professionals to do this for you and contact experienced kitchen manufacturers who can tell you all about kitchen remodels, new layouts and maximizing storage space so that you can fit even more dog food in there!
Bathroom innovations
This is another space where you dogs spend a ton of time, enjoying their baths and being pampered by your entire family. However, not all owners love letting their dogs into their bathrooms, especially if they’re muddy and dirty. But, if you redo your bathroom and take your dog’s needs into consideration as well, you’ll surely be able to do everything right and come up with a bathroom that works for you and your dog at the same time.
First, pay special attention to your bathing station – instead of a huge tub that looks nice but is far from practical, think about installing a walk-in shower all dogs can access. Instead of picking them up and putting them in the bath, you can just open the shower door and let them in. Alternatively, you could install one of those handheld showerheads that can help you access your dog more easily and wash it in a matter of minutes. You’ll all have a blast, which is great, but your bathroom won’t get messy and dirty, which is even better!
Remodeling your home just to make it more suitable for your dog might not be an idea everyone is going to understand, but if you’re a dog person and love your puppy, it’s something you definitely have to do – and your dogs will surely find a way to show you how much these things mean to them!
