essential-toys.jpgYour pet – that fluffy source of comfort – is your responsibility. However, pets, notwithstanding lovable they are, sometimes become a handful. Keeping a pet doesn’t have to be messy work – you need the necessary tools and products to meet your responsibilities.

You will be amazed by the range of products there are for pets. You don’t need all of them, but you certainly need these essentials:

Tracker

A pet owner’s worst nightmare is their pet going missing. It is alarming, and the uncertainty usually feels unbearable. A pet tracker would go a long way in easing your mind in case your pet wanders off.

A pet tracker will show you your pet’s real-time location at all times using GPS technology. Pet trackers have apps that you can install on your smartphone to keep tabs on your pet everywhere. Some trackers also feature geofencing technology that alerts you immediately when your pet leaves the vicinity of your home.

Pet trackers come in all shapes and forms. Your options include an external tracker fitted on your pet’s collar or an injectable tracker placed under the pet’s skin.

Body Harness

Pets are easily distracted, and when something picks their curiosity, they will try hard to pursue it. This is often the case for dog owners when you are walking your dog, and there are all sorts of exciting activities going on around. Your pet’s curiosity cannot be helped, but it is potentially dangerous. This is because your dog exerts pressure on his/her neck when pulling itself away, and this can lead to breathing complications.

Since you cannot do anything about your dog pulling away, why not keep him/her safe by fitting him/her with a dog harness. A dog harness covers the dog’s neck and chest, so if the dog pulls away, the pressure will be exerted on the chest instead of the neck. It also doesn’t hurt that dog harnesses are stylish.

Anti-Tick Powder/Shampoo

Regular grooming can only go so far to wade off ticks and other parasites. This is because pets (cats, dogs, and most pets) are always in contact with the ground and dirty surfaces. To this end, ticks and other parasites can make your pet their home just minutes after grooming. As such, you need a tick repellent that will actively repel ticks and parasites long after their last grooming session.

Your options include anti-tick shampoo or anti-tick powder. If you opt for the shampoo, mix it with other grooming detergents curing grooming. The powder, on the other hand, should be applied to the pet’s skin after grooming.

P.S. A tick repellent is essential because these parasites spread dangerous pet diseases that can sometimes infect humans.

Litter Box

Most pet owners agree that the worst part of having a pet is cleaning up after the furry creatures do their business. Undisciplined and untrained pets will do their business wherever it is convenient. It is your responsibility to train your pet to use the litter box.

However, a shabby litter box will still leave a mess that you have to clean. As such, go for an easy-to-use and efficient litter box. That way, you don’t have to be there to supervise your pet whenever they are doing their business.

Automatic Pet Feeder

It is tricky juggling between work and taking care of a pet. Who will feed your pet when you are not around? Technology has an answer: an automatic pet feeder.

The best thing about an automatic pet feeder is that it is programmable. You can program it when to release food and water for the pet, how much of it to release, and how many times to do it for however long you wish. That way, your pet never has to go hungry when you are not around.

Toys

Pets get easily bored, so get them toys to keep them occupied. Interactive toys are recommended for pet owners who may not always be there to play with their pets. For example, an automatic ball thrower will keep your dog busy and excited while doing something more productive.

Your Pet Deserves It!

Your pet is your best friend and, as such, deserves everything right you can offer. These essential pet products will improve your pet’s life and reduce the burden of responsibility.
