That is why we will have to categorise these breeds into various categories instead of listing the more than one hundred breeds that roam the earth. If Dogs are man’s best friends, the greatest companions are the furry breeds. They range from pups that you can fit inside your purse to the bigger ones that need a stable. These furry dogs are good to be with because they are adorable. Moreover, most of them are intelligent and have a cordial temperament. The most common breeds include Poodle, Yorkshire Terrier, Shih Tzu, Pomeranian, Havanese, Shetland Sheepdog, Maltese, and Newfoundland.

Other than the furry breeds, there are hunting breeds and fierce and fearless breeds. For a dog to be functional and useful in activities such as hunting, it needs to be intelligent and hardworking. There are various categories of breeds that are known to be intelligent such as the various Retrievers breeds. Dobermans are known to be fearless and daring. On the other hand, German shepherds are loyal.

The various characteristics and attributes that differentiate dogs

There are a set of words that are used to describe the particular breed of dog. The pool of adjective includes loyal, curious, and fearless. For instance, the Affenpinscher is a breed that is known to possess the mentioned three attributes. A breed can also be intelligent meaning it can be easily trained and hardworking. The pet dogs are often expected to be charming if not playful and intelligent in some cases. The temperament of a dog is also a description that is important to consider when selecting a breed. When selecting the type of breed to keep, have its characteristics in mind so that you get a useful companion.

Boxers are the other breed category. These dogs were meant for fighting thus they can stand on their hind legs and box with their front paws. Rottweilers are probably a breed that you are familiar with. They descend from the Roman drover dogs. The thing with this breed which is one of the most popular, they need daily exercise twice. It is an affectionate breed that is highly devoted. The Yorkshire Terriers are affectionate and sprightly. It carries with it vigour and a feeling of self-importance.

Beagles are another breed that is popular. They are cheery and own hunting acumen. A popular character of this breed is Snoopy. There are many other breeds you may need to know such as bulldogs and the Golden Retrievers. The Golden Retrievers are one of the most intelligent breeds that is also hardworking.
