Once you've settled in your home, it's time to arrange the backyard, so you, your family and a four-legged friend can enjoy.

However, where to begin? How to satisfy everybody's needs?

Here are some actionable steps that will help you create the ideal yard for you and your dog.

Put up a green fence

Although, putting up a fence isn't precisely what dogs who prefer to roam around want. However, this is a necessary step to keep your family and your pet safe. Still, you can make the fence more dog-friendly by planting some bushes, creeping vines or other plants along its edges.

Ensure some shade

Some cover is an indispensable part of your yard because like humans, dogs also suffer from heatstroke, sunburn, and dehydration. Therefore, think about getting overhead tarps or maybe a doghouse. Tall green trees would be a great natural shade if you can afford to purchase fully grown ones.

Establish marking places

Dogs instinctively mark new territory; it's what they do. So, if you don't want that they choose your grill or a sandbox of your kid, you should set up assigned areas where your four-legged friend can do its business. Make sure you place some large stones in your yard for that purpose, and everybody will be happy.

Get comfortable paths

Yards are excellent places for dogs to wander around. However, you must consider having suitable paths so your canine companion wouldn't hurt its paws. Paths made of materials like concrete, pebbles, smooth rocks, or brick ensure that your dog's feet stay unharmed and cool. Just avoid using tiny stones if you have small children because they may choke with them.

Set up a digging place

Digging is a part of dogs' nature, and they favourite playtime. Therefore, instead of yelling at pet for digging up your precious flowers make room for an area in your yard that will serve for delving. Use mulch or sand to create a corner for your pets and bury some toys or bones to show them that this is a spot where they can play.

Source of hydration

Ideal place for your dog in the yard always has a source of clean and fresh water. So, make sure you place a classic water bowl outside or if your budget allows you, buy a dog water fountain connected to your outside hose. Just remember to refill any option you choose and clean it regularly.

Don't forget to play

Catherine, a writer for Essay Writing Land, cheap paper writing service and owner of a golden retriever, gives the last advice: "The whole point of a yard is to enjoy the open space and have fun. As a cherry on top, fulfil your outdoor place with toys. Whether you choose a training tunnel, water sprinkler, popsicle toy or various balls, you and your dog will have a great time."

This may be overwhelming, but take one step at the time, and you'll have a perfect yard for you and your dog.
