Whether you have to sell your own pet for various reasons or you simply have one pup too many, you probably want to create a compelling ad. However, you are not completely sure on how to do it and you are not a professional – you don't know how to present your pet so it gets sold.

Here are some tips to help you out:

1. Write a compelling title

As in all advertisements, the title is the most important thing in your pet advertisement as well. A catchy and attention-grabbing title goes a long way. Make sure that it's informative and interesting at the same time. Something along the lines of Gina Needs A Home is too common and it doesn't tell them enough about the kind of pet you are selling. A title like CUTE PUPPY FOR SALE CHEAP ASAP‼! is just as bad. It makes you seem desperate. However, a title like Friendly, cute hamster for sale! Is just right.

2. Write an interesting description

The description is just as important as the title. If your title sparks their interest, your description will make them fall in love with your pet. “Make sure to include all the necessary information like breed, behaviour, size, health and the way it looks. You could also let them know why you are selling the pet. Stay away from telling sob stories or complaining about the landlord too much”, - explains Lillian Atkins, an Ads writer at Academized.

3. Include Images

Images are crucial parts of your advertisement. Not only do they make it look better and more attractive, but they also bring your pet closer to the potential buyer. Take a new, high-quality picture of your pet. Make sure that it's taken from a good angle and that the entire body of your pet is in the picture.

4. Include your contact information

You should always include your contact information in these advertisements – your phone number, email or any other kind of contact information. What matters is that you let your potential buyers know that they can reach you easily – the more ways you give them, the more likely they will be to reach you through a medium they are comfortable with. For instance, someone could prefer text messaging over phone calls. Also, make sure to let them know where you'll respond quicker.

5. Avoid spelling and grammar mistakes

Grammar and spelling mistakes make you look immature, unprofessional and not trustworthy. So, for instance, a title like 'COOL GUNIE PIG4 SLE! ' will make your audience skip your advertisement and rather go for someone that seems more mature and less risky. These mistakes are easy to fix, though, by using tools like Essay Roo and Australian Help.

Conclusion

Writing an advertisement that will have positive results is hard when you are not a professional. Make sure that you are always honest and that you represent your pet like it is in real life – as for the rest,  following these tips will help you create the best advertisement possible without much struggle.
