3 Reasons Why You Should Try Workouts With Your Pet

  • 10/04/2017
dog-running.jpgTo live means to move. If you think of it for a moment, you’ll see that this short saying keeps more wisdom than it may seem at first glance. It’s true that movement is an inherent part of being alive, and it’s also true that physical activity is linked to improved cognitive function, better mood, and stronger body. But what if your life is way too busy for regular workouts? What is the best way to balance between copying with your daily routine and staying physically active?

The answer might surprise you, but the best way to do this is to mix one with another. In other words, you should master the skill of blending two activities together. That’s not to say that you need to conduct weekly meetings with your employees while jogging. But there are pieces of daily routine that tend to blend perfectly with workouts. For instance, dog walking.

I provided this example for a reason. While reading this article, you’ll learn why you should at least consider practising workouts with your pet. Feeling intrigued? Read on to learn.

For the starters, let’s see why it even makes sense to practice workouts with your pet:

●     You will save plenty of time. Instead of spending 30 minutes on walking your dog and at least as much time on workout, you can spend 30-45 min on a harmonious mix.

●     It will make your workouts more fun. Raise your hand if it gives you hard times finding enough motivation to train regularly. It happens because workouts tend to be boring. The good news is that a workout partner (your dog) can make the world of difference to your workout experience. Try and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

●     You will get happier. If you don’t believe me, see the scientific evidence. Both spending time with pets and workouts are proven natural solutions to depression, anxiety, and stress. If you workout and play with your pet at one time, you get a double-shot of ‘happiness injection’.

Now, as it’s clear why workouts with pets are a great idea, let’s see how you can actually mix your physical exercises and ‘pet time’. There’re plenty of options to choose from, but these three seem to make the most sense (and fun too):

Go for a Run.

Dogs love running. If you believe your dog is an exception to the rule, you’re wrong. Running is one of the most natural physical activities, and it also features dozens of benefits for human health. And the good news is that it’s healthy for your dog too. Sounds like killing two birds with one brick, right?
