Guys can everyone pass on this. I found a male yorkshire terrier and female sh*tzsu this evening on a deserted wood road near the Mountain Park in Ardpatrick area this evening. They were filthy but after some barking at me to show they were tough etc I caught them and popped them in the boot. They appear,to be young dogs and are not neutered. Good enough body condition but gave them a bath so they look much better. Not very interested in food. Quite little dogs. Showed absolutely no aggression being caught, bathed etc. Not sure what to make of it but suspect they have been dumped. I wont drop them to the pound as was told everything is being pts friday before the christmas break. I realise rescues are overwhelmed but if they stay here could someone help me rehome them if no owner appears. I dont recognise them from the, area.

Well done for caring Canine.  I know you have a full house already.  They sound like they should be easy to home so fingers crossed for them.

Shame on whoever left them there.

Unusual development. The yorkie is microchipped through a Uk company and the chip was only activated last month. The owners havent registered the chip so it is worthless. Very strange.

Canine,  that is odd.

the negative part of my brain thinks that someone imported new breeding stock - but that bad breeders would not be bothered with getting in new stock.

On the more positive side perhaps some one from the UK moved over and the dogs strayed as they arent used to their new environment.  How long does it take for a chip company to update their database.   Not sure if my thinking even makes sense as if you lost your dog you would be looking for it.

contact your local rescues,   though Im sure you have already done so.

Please keep us updated and happy Christmas.

I have told all the local rescues and even the radio stations. Plus on removing the matted hair from the sh*tzsu, its actually a male, about six months old. They had lots of kisses for me this morning and were crying after me when I left them at the lady who runs a small rescue. Even though tonight they will sleep in her kitchen, it was hard to see them upset again. I'm too soft!!

Thanks Dee. Have further update. Turns out the chip in the yorkie was registered to a family in dublin. Rang them and they said they sold him two years ago. Not a bit concerned and not interested. Luckily he is going to a fantastic new home satyrday. The shihtzu is also starting his new life this weekend. I'm sorry I couldnt keep them together but they are going to have a new start:-)

That's good news. Clap Shame on the family in Dublin not caring, wonder did they breed him? Angry

Em sold the yorkie two years ago and not bothered - speaks volumes.
Thankfully this pair had you to look out for them and they are now on the  road to a better life.
