I have a pup now almost a year,I paid 800 euro for her and the Breeder still has not managed to Register her.
What would be an acceptable course of action
Thanks in advance

Have you contacted the breeder about this? if so what have they said? can you go back to their house and have a proper chat with them?
There are a lot of scammers out there that promise the dog to be registered etc and never do, they just con people out of their money so its up to the buyer to do their homework first and get a recommended breeder.
Unfortunately the dog can only be registered by the breeder so unless you can convince the breeder to do this there is nothing you can do really. |

Andrea is right plus there is only a six month span on the original cert to register it in your name.

Thanks both of you for your responses.
Yes i have been in contact with the breeder,She first blamed the kennel club for being slow and messing up when she tried to register online,Then she said she was doing it the old way and said they were messing her about again.
She was suppose to get the whole thing sorted out at a show in Birmingham on the 12 DEC but i have not managed to get a response since.
Will try her one more time.
Thanks Anthony

Is the breeder here in Ireland, or in the UK?

Hi There are postal strikes going on and things are a bit up in the air with post there. I too am waiting on papers from a breeder. The wait is realy starting to annoy me now. it was lifted for the christmas but thats all that was said so far. I am having endorsements lifted as well so dont know the deal with lenght of time. but i want to start showing and cant do that till i have papers here in my hand. realy annoyed myself.

Why is the breeder registering the pup with the KC instead of the IKC?

We had problems getting papers for Roxy aswel. Supposedly someone from the IKC rang us asking were we the owners because the breeder was trying to register her under our name and his name! When we contacted the Kennel club back they said nobody rang us. The breeder kept pawning us of saying the papers got lost etc. Eventually after we kept at him we did get the papers. I would suggest you keep on top of her.

If the breeder is in Ireland and the pups were born in Ireland the must be first registered with the Irish Kennel Club before they can be registered with the Kennel Club in the UK. Is it a case that the breeder has registered in Ireland and is registering the pup in the UK as well does not make sense really as if the pup is registered here you could have had the paperwork from here transfered the dog into your name and then registered the dog yourself in the UK
