Well I know this really sounds daft! But I have a big garden and am pondering having a look at taking on one or,two goats for around, the edge of it grazing. Now I know nothing about them so will take some time to do my homework! I have a small shed so hoping not a giant goat! I assume they are happiest in pairs. Does anyone here have any experience of them and also is there anywhere that rehomes goats.

Maybe try this crowd? http://www.neas.ie/ Absolutely no experience of goats except what others have told me about them being notorious escape artists!

I had a goat but she destroyed every shrub and tree in our place.  If you can keep it a very secure place and have a shed that it can use then I can definately recommend one.  Our betty was lovely but she could escape all the time.  She loved the horses in the field next door and was very sociable.  I rehomed her in Headford, Co Galway with a farmer who has goats because I felt sorry for her that she was alone.  We did get a lot of milk from her but my husband used to do it as I wasnt able to because it was too hard.

Good luck!

Best wishes
