I am a new member here,  we have a 3 year old jack russell male called ? jack.... we have a 2 year old rottweiler cross pomerainian female (she is spayed was spayed at a year old, called millie and we have a year old rottweiler cross pitbul female called bailey and she is the one im concerned about. A bit of history, when millie was in heat before spaying we kept her and jack apart with no pregnancy consequences, all three dogs got on very well together no rows or fights other than the normal i want that ball sort of thing, outside in the day they have a 6 foot by 15 foot shed as a kennell and a large gazebo for shade, we have a large 6 foot fenced garden with a locked 6 foot gate, they cant get out nor strange dogs get in, we walk all three twice a day, also we take them into the field behind and throw balls for them and they get great excersise from that. They come in at about 7.30 in the evening and stay in the living room together with us, they come over for the odd rub n tickle and play with their ball and sleep on the floor at our feet, when we go to bed at about 11.30 they go to sleep in their seperate cages in the kitchen and we let them back into the garden about 8 o'clock in the morning.
But bailey came into heat about the middle of august and we kept her and jack apart, (he has never had sex before ever,) she was in when he was out and vice versa, and jack was kept up on the sofa in the evenings, so they definately did nothing in front of us. My son came to visit one day it was the 28 august and he was in the kitchen, making dinner, i was out with my husband at the market, his baby daughter crawled into the kitchen, so he put bailey into the lawn part of the garden, we arrived back, and saw bailey in the garden and we ran out as i couldnt see jack in the run, he was in the lawned garden and must have jumped the lower 5 foot ornamental fence, that seperates the garden from the dogs part of the garden, bailey was huddled in one corner and poor jack was in the other crying and shaking, we put bailey out and carried jack in, he looked in shock and his penis was red and swollen, like a daffodil bulb thats the only way i can describe it exactly, and it wasnt going down and so i took him outside and poured water over it and it went back to normal. Bailey looked no different.
Now the whole balance has changed bailey and millie hang out together, jack is a loner, millie will go to him and play but if jack gets to close to bailey she will growl at him, but will eventually play with him but is wary of him and when we let them in at night instead of running in all excited they run in and she will growl at him and he looks afraid, then they are ok again ?? other than that they are all ok with each other. Bailey on the other hand is showing signs thather nipples are bigger, the area around them is puffier, she has put on a bit of weight, she wants to sleep all the time , she tries to play but gets tired a lot quicker and lies down, she is eating more, but today worried me, we have her well mixed with other dogs and people and strangers often say may i rub your dog, we say of course and she loves it she even lays down for them to rub her belly she is well socialised and always wears a muzzle but lets anyone and every one rub her, today though a lady we were stopped to speak to she rubbed the other two and asked could she rub bailey (they always ask when its for her) we said yes, as she moved towards her she growled and moved behind me, she NEVER does that ever, she looked quite frightened and wary, so we brought them home, i noticed today a white drip on her vulva, she is now asleep at my feet, she seems grand lately just the signs that iv spoken about and tiredness.
i have a feeling she is pregnant, she looks confused to, does any one else feel she could be ? how many puppies could this breed have ? like i said she is rottweiler cross pitbul and he is a full breed jack russell and the day we found them that day was the 28 august so its about 27 days as they had no oppertunity before or after that date., sorry this was so long but i wanted to give every detail as i could, can any one advise me, as i cannot afford a vet right now, we didnt want this to happen but it has. Unhappy Thank you very much for reading.

Hi there,

Please get this dog to a vet asap!! She could have an infection thats called Pyometra, which is a serious infection of the womb. She might not be pregnant but could have this, and if not treated by a vet, she could and most likely could die, yes, its that serious!!

The symptoms you describe sound like Pyometra, the discharge, the tiredness, off form etc. She could be in pup but it sounds more like Pyometra, so please bring this dog to a vet as soon as you can as time is of the essence here and critical she is seen by a vet.

I highly suggest getting either of both of your dogs spayed and neutered as you see how easy an accident can occur.

I cant stress how serious this infection could be so your dog needs a vet.
